As I was reading these first couple chapters I felt myself being pulled into the material. Almost repulsive, but still mesmorizing. Which is why I strongly agree with Cameron's suggestion to pray while reading Demian. I also thought that Becky's point of saying that Emil rejected Demian when he sought forgiveness and instead went to the light side where he knew he would be forgiven. I think he was taking the easy way out of the situation because he didn't know how Demian would react because he's so unpredictable. As of right now Demian still confuses me but I think that the more we read hopefully his ture character will be shown.
